Evidio is a short-form content platform where every video is source-verified before it's published. Every claim must be backed by a credible source (e.g. a peer-reviewed paper). Content passes AI fact-checking and is then reviewed by at least three real-life experts in the relevant field — giving you a feed that leaves you smarter than before you opened the app.
The problem
Social media platforms optimize for what keeps you scrolling, not for helpful, educational content. Meta eliminated its fact-checkers in January 2025. TikTok rewards outrage and novelty. My entire generation is getting their knowledge from random 60-second clips, where misinformation and real education matter equally little — as long as it's entertaining.
How it works
- A creator uploads a video with peer-reviewed sources.
- An AI model performs an initial fact-check against the cited sources.
- At least 3 verified domain experts review and approve the content.
- Only then does it enter the feed.
Users select the topics they want to learn about — the feed is then organized by topic, not by virality.
Instead of likes and follower counts, users build a contribution score based on how many videos they review, how many they post, how helpful their content is rated, and how actively they engage with questions. Useful behavior gets rewarded. Addictive behavior doesn't.

- API access to the verified content database for publishers and researchers
- Grant funding from science communication and civic-tech foundations
Who am I?
Lara Hopf — Biology graduate from Berlin, living in Toronto. Familiar with scientific literature and obsessed with this idea — and exactly the person this platform is for.
